We've got a great line-up of shows over the next few months, with something to suit every taste; we can't wait to welcome you as we head into the chilly months of the year.
Having kicked off our Autumn season in style over the past few weeks with the first of our Soundhouse gigs as well as A Play, A Pie & A Pint to warm us up, we're now fully in gear to head into the Autumn with some great work on the horizon.
This week we welcome Jack Hunter with his award-winning one-man comedy show, One of Two ahead of Stellar Quines joining us next week with the world premiere of Disciples - a powerful act of collaboration which places often-ignored stories at the centre of its world.
We'll also be playing host to acclaimed touring productions this season such as I, Daniel Blake and England & Son – starring Mark Thomas – as well as well as the landmark revival of John McKay’s Dead Dad Dog, which first premiered at the Traverse in 1988, alongside its newly written sequel, Sunny Boy in a unique double-bill.
At the end of October Battery Park by Andy McGregor and Moorcroft by Eilidh Loan make themselves at home in Traverse 1, for a stand-out week of highly-acclaimed Scottish theatre.
Tackling the smaller scale of Traverse 2 we have Woman Walking by Sylvia Dow, The Grandmothers Grimm by Emily Ingram, and Learning to Fly by James Rowland, all ready to knock our socks off.
With new writing at the heart of our programme we are joined by Strange Town with And... And... And... by Isla Cowan and Framework Theatre Company with Play Pretend by Katie Fraser, as well as scratch performances from the 4PLAY team and Page2Stage: More Pages.
Then finally, last but most certainly not least, we celebrate the end of this cracking season with the world premiere of Traverse Theatre Company's latest commission, Same Team – A Street Soccer Story by Robbie Gordon and Jack Nurse, story created with the women of the Dundee Change Centre. This is a warm, heartfelt story of friendship, community and teamwork taking place in an uplifting whirlwind through the highs and lows of homeless football.
Join us as we round off our 60th year of evolution in style with inspirational stories that look to the future and spark conversation between audiences and artists alike.
