Booking is now open to join our Traverse Young Writers Autumn 2021 cohort.
Traverse Young Writers is aimed at 18-25-year-olds who are looking to develop their writing skills in a fun, supportive group setting. The course offers the opportunity to be part of a creative network, where aspiring playwrights can discuss, debate and create great new work.
Maybe you’ve never considered writing for theatre before. Maybe you’re sitting on a story that’s about to burst out of you but you don’t know how to make it come alive on paper. Maybe you aren’t seeing yourself represented in Scottish theatre. Traverse Young Writers is for you.
This season of Traverse Young Writers will be lead by professional playwright May Sumbwanyambe. The ten-week course will examine and explore playwriting techniques and structures, culminating in a one-to-one feedback session with the Traverse Literary team.
You can book your place on the course here. The fee for the course is £90, however, we are able to offer a limited number of bursaries for those requiring financial support to access this course. If you would like to request a bursary, please download and complete this form. Please return completed bursary forms to writing@traverse.co.uk by Tuesday 14 September.
