Traverse Theatre makes theatre with - and by - the communities of Edinburgh, Scotland, and beyond. Creative engagement is embedded within our year-round programme and activities, offering people of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to explore their creativity and develop their skills.

By supporting the Traverse, you will in-turn support:

  • Opportunities for everyone to engage with creative writing and performance
  • Projects that welcome everyone, at home and further afield, to take part in the Traverse

£1-tickets

The generous contributions of Martin Currie's friends helped Traverse kick-off the £1-ticket initiative. Find out more about £1-tickets and Martin's legacy here.

Class Act

Class Act is the Traverse Theatre's flagship education project, offering pupils the unique opportunity to work with professional artists to develop their own creative scripts. Each year, the project culminates in a showcase presenting the pupils' work at the Traverse.

Traverse Young Writers

Traverse Young Writers offers young creatives (18-25 years old) a unique opportunity to receive professional mentoring and advice from some of the country’s leading writers and theatre practitioners over the course of a ten-week programme.

LOVE THEATRE? SAVE ITS FUTURE BY DONATING TODAY.
  • A gift of £100 could provide captioning of a short digital work, making our work more accessible.
  • A gift of £50 could cover a one-on-one dramaturgy session, providing writers with bespoke feedback.
  • A gift of £10 could pay for a bursary place in a Traverse Young Writers session, nurturing young talent from diverse backgrounds.

Don’t forget to Gift Aid your donation if you can! If you are a UK taxpayer and eligible to Gift Aid your donation, the Traverse will be able to claim 25p for every £1 you give - a further vital contribution toward our work.
